microchip sent me a replacement programmer dongle.. it took a while, but at least i got it.

Google has added a flickresque thing to their arsenal of internet domination... "Picasa Web Albums" pretty handy really if all your photos are being sorted by picasa. I would suggest you check it out, although its still in "test" stage at the moment..
